The importance of logistics labs in supporting the transition from fundamental to applied research is undisputed. Lately, the Internet (of Things) has changed the scope of these labs. On the one hand the Internet of Things is addressed as a research topic in these labs. On the other hand the Internet supports virtualisation of testing infrastructures and remote access to logistics labs for increased collaboration between researchers across different research disciplines and locations. The goal of the conference is to focus on lab-based research and education, evaluate their impact in research and education and investigate specific demands, opportunities and challenges.
ImViReLL 2012 provides a venue for researchers from academia and industry interested in future-oriented logistics labs as a nucleus for innovation. The conference addresses research in logistics from a wide range of fields, e.g. engineering, computer science, distributed education and collaborative research.
The conference is hosted by the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics (LogDynamics) at the University of Bremen. The conference will be held in combination (parallel sessions) with the 3rd International Conference on Dynamics in Logistics (LDIC’2012) – registration will allow access to both conferences! The conference will take place between February 27th and March 2nd, 2012 in Bremen, Germany (UNESCO cultural World Heritage sites: town hall and Roland statue).
